Dash Win, 7-2, Versus Florida

The game between Winston-Salem and Florida is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Winston-Salem Dash downed the Florida Fire Frogs, 7-2. The hitting star was left fielder Yaston Cappelletti. Cappelletti went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Dash. Winston-Salem reliever Derrek Cooper picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Lee Merklein was tagged with the loss.
Winston-Salem used the timely hitting of Connor Wells to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dash on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Wells told the Winston-Salem Daily News.
With the win, Winston-Salem goes to 20-17, while the Fire Frogs fall to 15-22.
