Mets Snatch 2-1 Win
|
St. Lucie Mets starter Yannick File pitched a good game to help his team take down the Virginia Beach Mariners, 2-1. The first-place Mets have won 4 in a row.
Had A.J. Gengler not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gengler hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Mets.
"Even if things get a little hairy, Yannick trusts his ability," said St. Lucie manager Wendell Pratt.
