Florida and Winston-Salem got after it at BB&T Ballpark.

Florida pitcher Alden Alcantara had a large part in his team beating the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win gives Florida a record of 16-10.

Alcantara was charged with 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings for the Fire Frogs. With the win, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-hander goes to 2-3.

"Alden gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Florida skipper Nicolás Colunga.
