The Charlotte Stone Crabs defeated the Frederick Keys, 10-0. Shortstop Julian Whitcomb deserved a large share of the credit. Whitcomb went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Stone Crabs. Chase Pellini went 7 innings for Charlotte to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with no runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record improves to 2-2. Charlotte is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 9th in 26 games.

In the first inning, Whitcomb had a bases-clearing triple for Charlotte. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Stone Crabs on top, 8-0.

"I try to not think too much," said Whitcomb.
