Fire Frogs Stun Marauders, 7-3
|
Behind the hitting of Robby Anderson, the Florida Fire Frogs stopped the Bradenton Marauders, 7-3. Anderson was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Fire Frogs. Logan Shamel, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. With the win, Florida upped its record to 16-12.
Florida used the timely hitting of Evan Dawson to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fire Frogs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dawson said.
