The St. Lucie Mets received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Santiago Gil, allowing them to shoot down the Bradenton Marauders, 3-1. The loss puts Bradenton at 9-13.

St. Lucie won the game in part because of Mukharbek Valiyev. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-1. For the game, Valiyev had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Bradenton manager Mike Victorino. "Obviously."
