The Virginia Beach Mariners got a sterling performance from left fielder Dade Craig, but the Winston-Salem Dash still prevailed, 6-5. Craig went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner was Tucker Thome in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Smokey Joe Pearce took the loss. Vincent Pillon picked up his 1st save of the season.

Winston-Salem took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Thomas Richards stroked a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Dash.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Richards.

The win leaves Winston-Salem with a record of 14-6.
