Janak 3-for-3 to Power Renegades Offense
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades defeated the Florida Fire Frogs, 9-5, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Hudson Valley was led by 24-year old catcher Mathias Janak, who went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Virgil Rios snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 1.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. After losing, Florida is 7-13.
Rick Dean drew 1 walk for Hudson Valley. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off J.R. Rogers. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Hudson Valley manager Bentley Love.
