Pit Spitters Absorb 3-0 Home Loss
|
The Oxford Owls used a great performance from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Darrel Rhys to beat the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 3-0, at Sun Sox Ballpark. The Pit Spitters, 5-10, continue their sluggish start to the 2068 campaign.
Joseph Henry, who is tied for 9th in the ECL in hits with 20, had a direct impact on the outcome. Henry contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Oxford up, 2-0.
"We played hard and won," said Rhys. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
