Owls Jolt Mets, 6-2, with Late Rally
|
Behind the bravura of shortstop Todd Rembert, the Oxford Owls topped the St. Lucie Mets by the score of 6-2. Rembert went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Owls. The loss makes St. Lucie 1-3.
Oxford used the timely hitting of Dylan Lum to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Owls on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Said losing manager Wendell Pratt: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
