The Charlotte Stone Crabs defeated the St. Lucie Mets, 4-3, at Charlotte Sports Park. Charlotte second baseman Johnny Shimazu had a superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. R.J. Luna, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. The win gives Charlotte a record of 2-0.

Charlotte took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, William Maurer hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Stone Crabs.
