Dash Get One-Run Win at Frederick
|
The Frederick Keys could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jim Marek into a win. Instead, the Winston-Salem Dash prevailed, 3-2. Marek threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. George Jordan nailed down his 1st save. Frederick drops to 1-1.
Winston-Salem used a clutch at-bat from Trent Rickman to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dash ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Dash manager Brandon Holmes.
