Though he had a terrific game, Tom Hawkins could not prevent his team, the San Bernardino Stampede, from absorbing a loss. Napa won the game, 7-5. Hawkins went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alex McCovey earned the save, his 19th. The Silverados win now puts them at 50-83.

Napa took a 7-5 lead on Brian Ruiz's 20th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ruiz hit in the top of the ninth, left San Bernardino pitcher Liam Sargent visibly frustrated.

"I felt good up there," said Ruiz. "I saw the ball well."
