Storm Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Silverados
|
Napa pitcher Leonard Thomas did his part in helping his team beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Napa reliever Honesto Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Tanner Downing absorbed the loss. The Silverados saw their win-loss record go to 81-52. At the same time, the Storm fell to 59-74.
The outcome might have been different for Napa, had it not been for Mario Byers, the 23-year old catcher . Byers stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Napa up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We all want to win," said Thomas. "We all want to do our part."
