4-3 Win Makes It 6 Straight for Gulls
The Ventura Gulls dealt the High Desert Mavericks a 4-3 loss at Gulls Ballpark. Oliver Gallo, who is tied for 9th in the CAL in stolen bases with 11, was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Pablo Contreras picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-1. Eli Peck was tagged with the loss. Fabian Crowe collected save number 20.

Victor Scazzola drove in one run for Ventura. The 22-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Eli Peck. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said Gulls manager George Iseminger.

Ventura is now 69-64. High Desert is 50-83.
