Stockton beat Pittsburg at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Billy Ramsey. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever David Knesek picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Thor Pinheiro took the loss. Woody Willis earned the save, his 4th, for the Ports.

Ramsey had a timely hit for Stockton in the top of the seventh. With Stockton trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-2 curveball into a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Stockton.

"Big team win," Ramsey said later.

Stockton is in second place in the California League North Division with a record of 75-56.
