Silverados Knock Off Stampede, 6-3
|
Jimmy Fisher was superb against San Bernardino. The right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the CAL in strikeouts with 132, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Silverados victory. The score was 6-3. Fisher, now 8-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The 4th-place Silverados are 77-48.
It could have been a different outcome for Napa, had it not been for Rito Salcido, the 24-year old third baseman . Salcido contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Napa up, 2-0.
"They played a better game than we did," said San Bernardino skipper Giordano Lopera.
