The Martinez Clippers handed the Bakersfield Blaze a 5-2 defeat at Recreation Park. Catcher Matías Sala starred for Martinez. He was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jerry Henriquez earned the save, his 26th, for the Clippers. Martinez is now 65-61. Bakersfield is 67-59.

Sala had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Sal Siebert, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Clippers a 5-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Sala.

"Matías showed up tonight," said Martinez manager Josiah Gordon.
