Modesto and High Desert duked it out and the Nuts came out victorious.
The Modesto Nuts picked up a win at John Thurman Field, courtesy of Cápulet Jaramillo. The right-hander helped his team stop the High Desert Mavericks, 3-1. Rúben Engana was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Rúben Engana recorded a big out in the top of the ninth. The Mavericks were trailing 3-1, but High Desert had a runner on 2nd with one out. Engana threw a 0-1 fastball to Lee, who flied out.
