Stompers March Over Red Wave, 13-2
|
The Sonoma Stompers cruised to a win over the Riverside Red Wave, 13-2, at Bright House Field. Ramón Salazar led the way, going 2-for-3 for Sonoma. Picking up the win was Thad Madden. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 2. The setback makes Riverside 69-57.
Salazar contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Sonoma in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Salazar took a fastball from Haden Cuellar and stroked the double to left. His 20th double of the season allowed the Stompers to leap in front, 4-2.
"Sometimes the runs come in bunches," said Salazar after the game.
