The San Jose Giants and Temecula Udder Tuggers played an exciting game.

The San Jose Giants besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Temecula left fielder Vincent Ellis by beating the Udder Tuggers, 4-3, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Ellis went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. San Jose pitcher Alfonso Barbosa got the win. He's now 10-3. Gene Sheridan was tagged with the loss. Roger Dawes converted his 19th save in 20 tries.

The Giants got a big at-bat from second baseman Jayden Taylor. For the game, Taylor went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave San Jose a 4-3 lead.

"Bottom line," said Temecula skipper Richard Ossman, "we didn't play well enough to win."

The Giants improved their record to 74-53 with the win over Temecula.
