The Stockton Ports and Lake Elsinore Storm were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Lake Elsinore Storm overcame a good performance by Stockton second baseman Boris Braddock to knock off Stockton, 5-3, at Banner Island Ballpark. Braddock was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Reliever Marichál Delgado picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Tiberius Tejeda took the loss.
Bayley Brown, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Lake Elsinore up, 4-3.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Brown told the Lake Elsinore Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The Storm move to 55-62 with the win, while the Ports drop to 56-61.
