Giants Get Better of JetHawks, 4-1
|
At San Jose Municipal Stadium, the Lancaster JetHawks and San Jose Giants were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The San Jose Giants topped the Lancaster JetHawks by a score of 4-1. Leading the way was catcher Rory Keir. Keir went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for the Giants. The winning pitcher was Steven Ruckel. His record now stands at 10-7. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Giants.
Keir had a key at-bat in the bottom of the first to put San Jose in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Lancaster pitcher Hector Trujillo.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Keir.
The 5th-place JetHawks now sit at 57-63.
