Cruisers Walk It Off for 72nd Win of Season
The Santa Cruz Cruisers picked up a win at LoanMart Field, knocking off the San Jose Giants, 4-2. On the mound for Santa Cruz was right-hander Andrew Gomez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner in relief was Kelsey Whipple. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 5-3. With the victory, the Cruisers record now stands at 72-45.

Santa Cruz won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Dale Aschwanden on the mound for San Jose, right fielder Liedson Borrego hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Cruisers fans to their feet.

"This place was electric at the end," Gomez said.
