Giants Make It 6 Straight Losses
|
A good performance from third baseman Rodrigo Quintero helped the Martinez Clippers defeat the San Jose Giants, 6-1. Quintero was 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs for the Clippers. The winner was Drew Holliman in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Yudas Colin took the loss. The Clippers move to 61-53 with the win, while the Giants drop to 65-49.
Roberto Alderete had a big bases-clearing double for the Clippers in the bottom of the third inning. With Martinez leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Yudas Colin and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Clippers ahead, 4-0.
"We've had a tough go of it," said San Jose manager Leon Becerra. "But we'll snap out of this funk."
