The Lake Elsinore Storm got great pitching from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Emmery, allowing them to bump off the High Desert Mavericks, 3-0. Mel Cepeda, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The last-place Storm now have a win-loss record of 37-74.

Emmery was in the zone all game. He frustrated High Desert hitters while giving the Storm 8 innings of quality work. Emmery threw 79 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 5 punchouts.

"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Emmery.
