JetHawks Score Late, Topple Blaze, 4-1
|
The Lancaster JetHawks got a strong performance from pitcher Jack McLean, who stymied the Bakersfield offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Jim Perry Stadium. The win puts the JetHawks at 52-57, while the Blaze drop to 61-48.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Noel Wampler to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the JetHawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
McLean attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
