West Virginia Black Bears starter Jae Barham turned in a sparkling performance against the Lowell Spinners, leading his team to a 1-0 win. Barham picked up the win for West Virginia, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. António González nailed down his 2nd save.

The Black Bears got a big at-bat from left fielder Cooper Hamlin. For the game, Hamlin went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave West Virginia a 1-0 lead.
