Red Wave Losers, 6-1, Versus San Bernardino
|
The San Bernardino Stampede beat the Riverside Red Wave, 6-1. San Bernardino pitcher and Omaha, Nebraska, native Jack Adams led the way. In 5 innings, Adams surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Stampede sit in 6th place in the California League South Division with a record of 48-52.
San Bernardino used a clutch at-bat from Maddox Silas to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Riverside manager Jim Young.
