The Lake Elsinore Storm had to overcome a good performance from High Desert pitcher Eddie Palumbo to claim a 3-2 win at Mavericks Stadium. Palumbo went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Lake Elsinore pitcher Donte Ray got the win. He's now 1-2. Gottfried Lyon was tagged with the loss. The save was Bobby Schultz's, his 9th.

Lake Elsinore used a timely hit from Patrick Martin to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Storm ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"The Storm earned it," said High Desert manager D.J. Schultheis. "Hats off to them."

Despite the win, the Storm still have a pitiful 27-72 record.
