Gulls Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Ventura Gulls picked up a win at Lake Elsinore Diamond, defeating the Lake Elsinore Storm, 4-1, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher D.J. Brown was an essential part of his team's success. Frank Badillo claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 6-3. Mitch Hall picked up the save for Ventura, his 22nd of the year.
Dylan White came through with a big-time hit for Ventura. The left fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Our team showed some spunk," said White.
Ventura has now won 6 games in a row.
