Blaze Earn 4-1 Win Against Udder Tuggers
|
With third baseman Brandon Doherty leading the charge, the Bakersfield Blaze defeated the Temecula Udder Tuggers, 4-1, at Jim Perry Stadium. Doherty went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Mark Morris came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. His record now stands at 5-2. Temecula's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Doherty hit a curveball from Edward Toma for a 3-run home run. The Blaze, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Bakersfield manager Brian O'Kray.
