Luevanos, Giants Put Clamps on Cruisers
The San Jose Giants topped the Santa Cruz Cruisers, 4-0, in California League action at LoanMart Field. The standout performance belonged to San Jose pitcher and Chinandega, Nicaragua, native Timoteo Luevanos. The Giants now own a record of 59-35.

Luevanos, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 10 in 7 innings and gave up no runs.

Luevanos, who is tied for 2nd in the CAL in quality starts with 11, moves to 7-6 on the year with 103 strikeouts.

"Timoteo was strictly business," said San Jose field general Dylan D'Onofrio.
