Poquiz belts 2 home runs, Leads Cruisers to Win
Blake Poquiz was a major contributor to the 11-5 Santa Cruz win over Bakersfield. The Cruisers first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Andrew Gomez, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Cruisers' win now puts them at 61-30.

With Santa Cruz leading 6-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Poquiz hit a slider from Salamon Mancia for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Cruisers ahead, 10-3.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Poquiz.
