Damuth, Cruisers Get Tidy 1-0 Win Over Bakersfield
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Santa Cruz Cruisers and the Bakersfield Blaze, pitcher Ian Damuth was the difference between victory and defeat. The Santa Cruz right-hander earned accolades in the 1-0 Cruisers win. Jayson Campos notched his 13th save in 17 chances. The Cruisers own a robust 60-30 mark.
It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Damuth, who tallied 6 strikeouts in 7 innings and allowed only 2 hits. Damuth, who is tied for 2nd in the CAL in wins with 10, raised his record to 10-2 on the year with 72 strikeouts.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Damuth.
