Lake Elsinore Nets 3-2 Win Versus Blaze
The Lake Elsinore Storm earned a close win over the Bakersfield Blaze, thanks in part to Sam Ives. The Lake Elsinore left-hander played a key role in the 11-inning, 3-2 victory. Lake Elsinore reliever Mel Cepeda snagged the win, upping his record to 2-5. Nicky Amaya shouldered the loss. Lake Elsinore, at 27-61, holds down last place in the California League South Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Quinton Zeman in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Nicky Amaya to win the game for Lake Elsinore. The home crowd went nuts.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Storm manager Kevin Cornell.
