Storm Earn 2-1 Win Versus Clippers
|
Martinez pitcher Robert Goshe gave the Storm all they could handle, but in the end, Lake Elsinore left Lake Elsinore Diamond with a win, 2-1. Goshe allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings. The win belonged to Pete Lizardo in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Robert Goshe took the loss for Martinez. With the win, Lake Elsinore goes to 39-43, while the Clippers fall to 38-44.
Lake Elsinore took a 2-1 lead on Brent Sabin's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sabin hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Martinez pitcher Lincoln Hulbert visibly frustrated.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Sabin told the Lake Elsinore Daily News.
