10-6 Win for Martinez Over Riverside
|
The Martinez Clippers took on the Riverside Red Wave at Recreation Park.
Clint West helped his team muscle past the Riverside Red Wave, 10-6. In the game, the Martinez right fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Nate Leetch collected save number 5.
José Mosqueda was 2 for 5 with 2 singles for Martinez. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring single off Nathan McCalip. It was his 27th hit of the season.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," West told the Martinez Bulletin.
The Clippers now have a record of 56-28 with the win over Riverside.
