The Riverside Red Wave faced a tough opponent in Martinez pitcher Isaiah Charles, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Recreation Park by a final score of 8-7. Charles went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Riverside reliever Zach Cormier picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Katsutoshi Ikeda was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Riverside record is 20-62.

It could have been a different outcome for Riverside, had it not been for Marco Marte, the 24-year old first baseman . Marte contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Riverside up, 7-6.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Marte.
