Napa center fielder Isaac Ahern had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Ahern went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Lancaster beat the Silverados, 7-5. The win belonged to Lindy Fitzgerald in relief. His record improves to 3-5. Paul Wormley took the loss for Napa. The loss makes Napa 48-32.

Had Richard Sergent not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Sergent hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the JetHawks.

In comments to the Lancaster Times, Sergent admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
