Pittsburg Keeps Spiraling Downward
|
The Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers knocked off the Pittsburg Diamonds, 5-1, in California League action at Hammond Stadium. Rancho Cucamonga pitcher and St. Helens, Oregon, native Tam Warren had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Warren, now 6-5. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. The save went to Austin Tomes, number 7 for him.
Raul Rosario had a big run-scoring double for the Rattlers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Rancho Cucamonga leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Connor Freedman and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rattlers ahead, 2-0.
"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Pittsburg manager Chris Carpenter.
The Rancho Cucamonga winning streak has reached 3 games.
