Stampede Tack 4-2 Loss on Bakersfield
|
The San Bernardino Stampede earned a win at Jim Perry Stadium, knocking off the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-2. On the bump for San Bernardino was right-hander J.R. Kelly. He had a starring role in the triumph. The winner was Kelly. He threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Rob Ysaguirre. Jayden Wright closed the door for San Bernardino, picking up his 20th save of the year.
Center Fielder Logan Latson made an impact for San Bernardino, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Rob Ysaguirre in the top of the second. For the contest, Latson went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
San Bernardino manager Stephon Cohen was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
The California League South Division-leading Stampede are 40-27.
