Close Win Moves Giants to 33-34
|
The San Jose Giants had to overcome a big game from Sonoma third baseman Rafael Bennett to leave San Jose Municipal Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 4-3. Bennett was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. San Jose reliever Jackson Fritsch was credited with the win, to go to 3-9. Drew Park took the loss for Sonoma. The Giants saw their record improve to 33-34.
T.R. Halverson drew 1 walk for San Jose. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Neil Reader. It was his 35th walk of the season.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Giants," said Halverson.
