Diamonds Handed 6-2 Loss by Sonoma
|
Sonoma pitcher Jackson Myers had a large part in his team subduing the Pittsburg Diamonds, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Myers got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Félix Natividad earned the save, his 2nd, for the Stompers.
The Stompers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Oliver Woods. For the game, Woods went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Sonoma a 3-2 lead.
"No complaints from me," said Stompers manager Lorenzo Velarde. "I like what I saw out there."
Sonoma is off to a hot start at 5-2.
