The Pittsburg Diamonds besoiled an otherwise fine performance by San Bernardino designated hitter Rod Foster by beating the Stampede, 6-5, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Foster was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pittsburg reliever Fabian Fermin picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Max Fen absorbed the loss. Lucas Alvare finished the game for Pittsburg and earned his 2nd save.

The Diamonds got a big at-bat from right fielder Dave Jones. For the game, Jones went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Pittsburg a 6-5 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Jones.

The Diamonds go to 10-54, putting them last in the California League North Division.
