Stampede Down Diamonds, 4-0
|
San Bernardino designated hitter Tony Scheer made his presence felt in the 4-0 Stampede triumph over the Pittsburg Diamonds. Scheer went 2-3 with a double and a walk. Hunter Winston, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Stampede raised their record to 27-30.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Jason Raymer didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Pittsburg trailing 2-0, Raymer retired Jack Bisbee to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Raymer, with a wink.
