Todd Goes Deep Twice, Helps Stampede Top Rattlers, 8-3
|
Getting offensive support from Lee Todd, the San Bernardino Stampede topped the Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers, 8-3. Todd belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Stampede. Matteo Mathis snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Pierce Chambers suffered the loss. Axel Plute closed the game out for San Bernardino, earning his 4th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Stampede grabbed the lead when Todd hit his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Pierce Chambers made it 4-3, San Bernardino.
"They had a good approach," Rancho Cucamonga skipper Eric Koczera said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
San Bernardino now owns a record of 28-32.
