Blaze Win 4th Straight, Take Down Diamonds, 3-1
|
George Boeggeman was nothing short of phenomenal for the Bakersfield Blaze. The 25-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Pittsburg Diamonds, 3-1. Boeggeman, now 4-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Nicky Amaya, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
With two out in the bottom of the first, Morgan Mock put Bakersfield in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Blaze went on to win the ballgame.
"George is one tough son of a gun," said Bakersfield manager Brian O'Kray.
Bakersfield has won 4 straight games.
