Red Wave Pick Up 6-4 Win Against Bakersfield
|
The Riverside Red Wave overcame a pretty good performance by Bakersfield center fielder Scott Emmons, beating the Blaze, 6-4, at Jim Perry Stadium. Emmons was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Charlie Tanaka got credit for the save for Riverside. It was his 8th of the year. Riverside is 17-35 and Bakersfield, with the loss, 24-28.
Riverside used the hitting of Mick Dees to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Wave on top, 3-0. For the game, Dees had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good team win," Dees said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
