Red-Hot Stampede Win Again
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot San Bernardino Stampede.
The Riverside Red Wave got a superb performance from pitcher Charlie Tanaka, but the San Bernardino Stampede still won the game, 4-2. Tanaka threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Yuriy Stashko claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-1. Douglas Lawton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
San Bernardino used a well-timed hit by Daniel Chung to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said San Bernardino manager Stephon Cohen.
San Bernardino has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
