Clippers Get Thrilling 3-2 Win
|
Martinez and Napa played a hard-fought contest.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old right fielder Rasheed Morales, the Martinez Clippers stopped the Napa Silverados, 3-2. Brandon Batey earned save number 13.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Grant Clausen was at the plate when Martinez scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Clippers to go in front, 3-2.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Carson Lee.
Martinez has now won 5 straight.
