Temecula Offense Jammed Up by Mavericks
|
High Desert pitcher Kevin Poole did his part in helping his team defeat the Temecula Udder Tuggers, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Poole got the win, improving to 4-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the win, High Desert raised its record to 31-10.
Paxton Melanson went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for High Desert. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Zach Graham. It was his 15th walk of the season.
"We're happy, our fans are happy," Poole told a High Desert Citizen reporter. "I hope you folks in the media are happy, too."
